結びつけているのか？松江市図書館システム・塩尻市ひとり親事業の取組事例をご紹介いたします
テーマ２ Empowering e-Learning through Open Source Software
講演者 Dr. K. P. Hewagamage氏（島根大学総合理工学部）
概要 During last few years, e-Learning is becoming a popular alternative to enhance ICT based
education in both higher education and secondary education. Open source community has played a
significant role in this paradigm shift in education by facilitating relevant institutes.
Learning Management System (LMS) is the software platform that provides the foundation to develop
e-Learning infrastructure. Proprietary software solutions tried influenced education institutes
few years ago by introducing unacceptable closed as well as unsustainable solutions.
Open source learning management systems changed this trend by introducing low cost solutions
with the freedom to growth. As a result, a majority of educational institutes in the world
uses open source learning management systems. Today, Moodle (www.moodle.org) is the most
popular open source software solution among those academic institutes.
